Response is a sectional analysis program to allow users to predict behaviour of beams/columns/slabs/walls using a layered analysis that includes the influences of shear. To learn more about it, click on my PhD, below, from 2000. This document includes the manual for the programs. The program has changed a bit since then and will change in the future as well, but this provides the basic information needed to understand the program.
